  15.      _g_a_m_m_a with no arguments prints the current gamma correction value.  _g_a_m_m_a
  16.      followed by a floating point argument sets the gamma correction value.
  17.      This system resource can only be changed by the super user. Positive
  18.      numbers less than 20.0 are allowable values for gamma. On systems with
  19.      gamma hardware, the X server should be terminated and restarted.  This
  20.      can be done via kill(1) or, if xdm(1) is used, by changing the
  21.      tttteeeerrrrmmmmiiiinnnnaaaatttteeeeSSSSeeeerrrrvvvveeeerrrr entry in /usr/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-config to TTTTrrrruuuueeee.  Colors in
  22.      X clients may not look correct until the server is restarted.
